My Last Post...

here in blogspot...

I decided to migrate all my posts to Wordpress for the following reasons:

1. I found wordpress themes better (I think...) and easier to install. And there's a wide range of options.
2. I wanted a theme which has a wider width so I can post pictures in a larger form.
3. I was looking for a theme where I can upload audio files, my current theme is not capable of posting audio files.

Starting today, you may view my new blog here.

Thank you for reading my posts. ;) I appreciate it a lot!

By the way, my visual delight for today are these Furla candies... ;)
It's not what you think, I just like looking at them, that's all. ;)
See you at wordpress!

Baby photos

Yesterday, over lunch, Claire and I talked about SSS contribution and the benefits that you can get when you give birth. So once again, for the nth time, I remembered that I need to update my contribution... just in case...

Last night, I remembered that I asked momsy to update my SSS records late last year, she filed for my change in status so I can get an ID with my married name on it, the ID needs to be taken in Q.C. Since I don't have time yet to go to QC SSS office, momsy just gave me the receipt (for the ID). When I was looking for the receipt, I saw some baby photos, but the receipt is nowhere to be found!!

Just want to share them with you... ;)

I've been wanting to have a haircut and to try having "bangs" but I don't know if it would look good on me... I can't remember having bangs but after seeing these photos, now I remember. What you think? ;)

More photos with bangs... ;)

This time of the year…

Today is Ash Wednesday. It marks the start of lent, a 40-day observance (fasting, abstinence, prayer…) from Ash Wednesday until Easter Sunday. Yearly, usually, my only sacrifice is not to eat meat every Friday, not that I favor meat over veggies.. so I guess, it doesn’t really count.

For this year, I need to work on “forgiveness.” As this is the best time to reflect and try our best effort to forgive ourselves and others, I will continue to work on this aspect, I know that God has already forgiven me with all my weaknesses and shortcomings. Now, it is my turn to forgive those who have hurt me..
Aside from this, I will add another sacrifice, I will not buy bags from today until my birthday! So that means, I'm off limits to bags for exactly half a year!! Oh no, can I do this?? I should do it though its hard, that's why it's called a sacrifice, right? Sorry for that, I'm just thinking out loud! :)

I remember from a priest's homily last year during Ash Wednesday that the money you will be able to save (from fasting or refraining from buying something) should go to our brothers and sisters who are in need...

Have a fruitful and meaningful observance of lent.
God bless us all.

ADB server down!

Might as well blog! ;)

God's message for me today

Dear Ryah,

Not all blessings are created equal. Some blessings are temporary.  Some blessings are permanent.

The Blesser,
God

P.S. Ryah, when you enjoy your permanent blessings (love, people, relationships) first, you’ll be able to enjoy your temporary blessings even more.

Wonder Woman, yes you are!

Today is the 100th year since the first International Women's Day came about.

I would like to greet you a "Happy Woman's Day!"
This is your day, this is our day! ;)

I entitled this post "Wonder Woman" because I believe that we all deserve to be called wonder woman, we might not have Wonder Woman's very sexy figure, but we surely do have her charm, strength and her power. I have not watched any of Wonder Woman movies nor have read any comics or books about her, I just know that this superheroine "exists."

I have recently read in Daphne's blog about Mac's Spring 2011 Make-up line inspired by Wonder Woman.

Here are some of the products, limited edition and definitely worth collecting.;) I am not into cosmetics but I am tempted to get one as Woman's Day gift for myself! hehehe
To all my wonderful & gorgeous girl friends, Happy Woman's Day! ;) Enjoy!

Q Celebration

Last 24 February, Thomasians in ADB gathered and celebrated UST's 400 years of existence, the oldest university in Asia. We called it "Q" Celebration, in short for "Quadricentennial." There are 194 staff who graduated in UST, more than 100 attended the event. The UST Alumni Relations were there too and provided the backdrop for the photobooth and stage, they also gave away souvenir items (paperweight and baller ID), sold some shirts, car stickers and stufftoys. They also brought the Quadricentennial mascot, they call him Qster(??). There were performances and some games. I looked forward to this event, I volunteered and was assigned to be one of the collectors of ticket payment. The tshirt was provided the day before the event,  I decided not to wear it because I was not able to wash it and it was not required to wear it anyway.

Here are some of the photos:
with Ruth, Ruby and Kathy
with OGC friends
with SARD colleagues
with co-volunteers
I joined this game...I didn't win.. Ruby won!
with Rhina
the car sticker (which I bought), the paperweight (souvenir) and the ticket
I really enjoyed the event, we had so much fun and had lots of photo-taking. It was good to see familiar faces and learn that they came from the same alma mater as yours.

I look forward to more events, to more get-togethers.

Go USTE! ;)

What's inside your bag?

In September 2007, my friend Ruby (former officemate) introduced "Face your pockets" to our group of friends. I blogged about it in my multiply site (pls see below post) and reposted it last February 2010 in my former blogsite. I mentioned that I wanted to do it again, not using a scanner but a digicam and without my face. Finally, I was able to do it again last month. Comparing these 2 photos, there are things that never change, after more than three years, my must-haves remain the same, umbrella, rosary, hand sanitizer, lipstick and lip gloss, ponstan, MRT card, face powder, keys. Now, I have some additional must-haves  (aside from my wallet and coin purse), a book, my USB, hairclip/band, ipod, pen, mint, comb and mirror.

9February 2010 (reposted)

I had created this post in September 2007 in my multiply site. My friend/ then officemate Ruby introduced the concept of "Face your Pockets" to our group. Having a scanner in our office, we scanned our faces with the things found inside our bags.
I would like to do this again, excluding the face (and the scanner thing), I would like to take a picture of my bag and what's inside, the problem is I don't have a digicam (mine was broken months ago), I've been wanting to buy a Ricoh R10(in the meantime, because I definitely can't afford a Leica Safari right now) but still thinking about the budget. As soon as I have my new camera, I will take a photo of my bag and everything inside. I'm sure, since it's been 2 years since "the scanner" took this photo, some things might have changed..my "what to bring" would probably changed since my priorities have changed, I believe that your bag is reflective (somewhat) of who you are and what you hold dear in your heart.

How about you, what's your "can't live without"?

One Day

Exactly after a month (well, after 28 days), I finished reading this book. This is probably the thickest book that I have read  so far and finished in just a month. I enjoyed reading this book, it's not the typical love story, I liked the extreme qualities (but a perfect blend) of the main characters, Dexter and Emma, and their almost 2 decades of hate-love relationship. I was kinda shocked with how the story ended but I thought that it was very possible...

I got more excited to finish the book when Rocel told me that this is now being filmed, Anne Hathaway (one of my favorite Hollywood stars) will play as Emma and Jim Sturgess as Dexter. I hope that the movie will do justice to this very well-written novel, I also hope that it will be released in Manila this year.
To my movie buddies, this is a must-see! ;)

On Flowers

I received a mail from UNICEF today, inside the envelope were 2 cards and a thank you letter. Now that I am into photography and I am fascinated with macro-shots, I even more liked the card design. I loved it and it put a smile on my face. ;)
Just this week, I brought my camera and took photos of my plant. This is my only plant, I think "she" is more than 3 years old already, thank you for the company gardener who takes care of her really well.

By the way, my favorite flowers are tulips, peonies and sunflower. How about you?

God's message for me today

Dear Ryah,

I love to give you good things.

Get ready,
God

P.S. Good, good, good stuff, Ryah.

I am ready Lord God. Thank you in advance! ;)

The Sweetest Thing

This week, I was not feeling well due to my period and colds. I am planning to visit my dear friend, Shervel, this weekend but due to my sickness, I would probably postpone it, again...

I saw her last 5 February when I attended the baptism of her firstborn Enzo, I was one of the godmothers. We did not have a chance to talk because I left the church right after the ceremony, I did not proceed to the reception anymore.

Here are some of our photos at the church:
Shervel is one of my dearest friends, we were schoolmates in college but we became friends 9 years after we graduated. The friendship started in January 2009, I was newly married (3months), she was newly married too, (nearly a month). The story of our friendship started there, my bh and I were there for her when her marriage was tested at a very early stage... They were able to survive that very tough trial and now they are happy and blessed with a very cute baby, my inaanak, Enzo Matteo.

This photo was taken in 2009 when we watched Breakfast at Tiffany's at Rockwell Powerplant.
Shervel knew my situation just last month (but not yet the details), weeks after I attended the baptism, I didn't tell her about it because she was pregrant (gave birth on 13 December) and didn't want her to feel sad about it. I know she's very eager to see me, I feel the same, since she learned about my situation, she emails me from time to time and she's asking when can we meet. I texted her and told her that I might not be able to visit them this weekend due to my colds, I don't want baby Enzo to get sick too because of my virus.

Shervel's response was the sweetest thing, she told me to just let her know if I could make it, she would cook "sinigang" and would prepare calamansi juice for me. I feel so loved, God has blessed me with wonderful family and friends, I feel so pampered, even those who do not know my situation, they treat me so well, I could not think of any other reason for this but only because of God's love, He loves me and makes me realize that life is worth-living and truly beautiful, the people around me, my angels-on-earth, they are my greatest blessings, if you are reading this, you are certainly one of them, you are heaven-sent.

Thank you... you know who you are...

On Happy Colors

I have some favorite blogsites which I visit once in awhile. Just today, I checked this site and found these colorful photos (I love the colors and the photography), I read the post, it was about Kate Spade's new bag line. I checked the Kate Spade's website and I have to admit, there are items that I really liked, haayyy..  I will have to stop right now.. ;)
Soon, you will see more of these happy colors here (I hope, surprise, surprise!) ;)

How do I usually spend my weekend?

On weekends, if I don't have a particular plan to go out, I usually take advantage of it by doing what I love to do, I read books and some printed materials that I bring home, I watch movies on my laptop, I blog, I write my thought in my "diary," I listen to my favorite songs using my ipod while cleaning and/or organizing my room. Well, I also have to do things that I don't particularly like doing, for example, folding and ironing my clothes. ;) But in the coming weekends, I should seriously and religiously set aside time to practice driving. I really want to learn how to drive, I need to practice a lot to gain confidence. This should be on top of my priorities for the year. Good luck to me! ;)

God's message for me today

Dear Ryah,

I must warn you: The life I call you to live includes suffering. But not suffering for suffering’s sake. But suffering for the sake of love!  And when it is done for love, suffering is sweet and beautiful.

Love,
God

P.S. Ryah, love isn’t love without suffering for the beloved.

I will remember this Lord God. Thank you.

Just when I need it...

I don't know if it's hormonal (I'm having my period) or it's because of something else, that's causing my "unusual but familiar feeling."

Sometimes, I get tempted to ask God to literally take out the pain in my heart, to remove the bad memories in my mind and to heal my brokenness right away, but I control myself since I believe in God's perfect timing, timing which is very different from ours. I also believe in God's miracle and I know nothing is impossible with Him.

Of course, it's hard to wait (especially when you don't know what you are waiting for), sometimes it's too tiring to struggle, but as always, God sends circumstances and people to give me peace, love, understanding and support that I need, the reassurance that God has a beautiful plan for me, for us, and everything is happening and will happen according to HIS plan and that alone gives comfort to my weary heart.

Just today, I received this email, God's way of speaking to me...

"If we really want God to redeem the bad situations in our lives, we  have to accept that the way to get there is through the cross. We have to be willing to endure the difficulties, and in enduring them, learn patience, and in learning patience, develop unconditional love for troublemakers, and in developing unconditional love, become more fully united with God who IS love."

Thank you Lord for the strength to endure that you provide everyday..

God's message for me today

Dear Ryah,

Haven’t you noticed? Everything you need goes to you.

Yours,
God

P.S. You’re a blessing magnet, Ryah. Spread the love.

I have noticed it Lord, thank you!

HB to my bh!

To my bh (betterhalf),

I did not forget your birthday, it’s just that I decided not to greet you. You probably know why.

Though many things have happened and many things have changed, God knows that I still and will always hope and pray that He will continue to bless you and prosper you with all the beautiful things He has planned for your life.

Have a wonderful 32nd!

May your life be filled with peace and true happiness.
Be blessed always.

Still your bh in Christ,
Ryah
